WELCOME TO COMMVAULT® EDUCATION CONNECTIONS

Chris Sharp, Senior Director, Commvault Global Education Servicesby Chris Sharp
Senior Director, Global Education Services

Welcome to the latest edition of our Education Connections newsletter. As always, we’re covering topics that underscore our commitment to educational quality and innovation. This innovation enables our customers to leverage all of the capabilities that are built into Commvault’s data management solutions.

Speaking of innovations, the big news here at Commvault has been the announcement of its latest evolution, kicking off a series of incremental innovations that will collectively define its next-generation approach to data protection and data management.

“The recent launch of our market-leading Commvault Data Platform and next generation software provides organizations with a modern, holistic data management solution to tackle emerging and existing challenges facing customers today.”

— Bob Hammer
Commvault Chairman,
President, and CEO

For professionals using our solutions, it’s more important than ever to refresh and deepen their software knowledge, in order to take full advantage of our latest technology, and to stay current and competitive within their respective industries.

In addition to training focused on understanding the new features included in our next-gen platform, we continue to add new self-paced eLearning titles — see the ‘What’s New’ section of the Education Advantage Website — and check back often to see new and/or updated titles. It is Commvault’s mission to deliver the best technical learning experience, and your feedback, collaboration and active participation helps to shape that ongoing effort.

What's in this edition:

  • Commvault Introduces Visual Learning Paths — A web-based tool that helps take the guesswork out of determining which courses and certifications are best suited to your role and to the unique needs of your organization.
  • Discover important New Features in Our V11 Training Course — The launch of our next-gen platform has customers and analysts alike talking about the robust functionality that helps to address the emerging data management needs of organizations. Our V11 Training Course helps you quickly get up to speed, and learn what you need to know in order to get the most out of your Commvault investment.
  • The Increasing Value of Commvault Certification — Our research demonstrates that those who attain and maintain Commvault Certifications have increased levels of both self-sufficiency and productivity, while significantly reducing the frequency of support "incidents." To learn more about Commvault's Certification program, or to see the latest Certification news and planned release dates for V11 Certifications, visit us at https://ea.commvault.com/Education/Certification.
  • The Impact of Training — Quality training helps you improve your ability to operate, manage, and optimize your Commvault environment. In order to ensure that our training retains a high level of quality, we routinely solicit feedback from our students. You can see some recent responses in the accompanying article. One recent survey indicated that a full 68% of those questioned found that their Commvault training greatly improved the functionality of their Commvault environment. And while we are always pleased to hear the "good" news, all of the feedback that we receive helps to keep us on the right track. So if you ever receive a survey about your experience with Commvault training, we urge you to take a moment to respond, because your feedback — positive or otherwise — is especially important to us, and is always greatly appreciated!
  • Meet the Instructor — Training that is highly technical in nature requires not only command of the material, but also — and perhaps more importantly — the skills necessary to communicate it in a way that will be most meaningful to students. Our instructors are not only experts in the data management field with 8-10 years’ average experience with Commvault software, but also highly trained in the educational methods and techniques that have proven to be most effective in the classroom. This edition profiles Ben Carter, a Technical Trainer based in the United States. We will continue to share profiles about other team members in future issues.
  • New and Updated Training and Certifications — Commvault's Certification Program validates expertise and advanced knowledge in a variety of topics, including Core Fundamentals, Implementation and Maintenance, as well as providing more advanced Specialist and Master designations. Learn more about them here: https://ea.commvault.com/Education/Certification.

All courses leading to the Professional and Specialist Certifications are offered as instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, or eLearning format to meet every training need. Not sure where to begin? Take a look at our course offerings and certification programs at https://ea.commvault.com/. While you're there, check out Commvault’s Education Services Self-Assessment Tool. It’s a convenient way to assess your knowledge level about Commvault's technology. It takes between 30 and 45 minutes to complete the questions in the assessment tool, and once you’re finished, you’ll be provided with:

  1. A Comparative Score — your testing result will be compared to others in your role who’ve already completed the evaluation.
  2. Recommended Commvault Courses — based on your responses, you’ll receive a list of recommended courses that can help to increase your knowledge level.

When you’re ready to take your skills up to the next level, check into our education services, to find the best training for your specific needs. Got questions? Please feel free to reach out to us. We would be happy to help you find the right learning method that supports your professional growth objectives and brings additional value to your role and to your organization.

Sincerely,
