This 3-day Commvault® Master workshop offers an opportunity for deep level discussions on current and emerging technologies, design strategies, and best practices. The V11 Master Update certification exam is included with this course. The full V11 Master Certification exam is not included.


Advanced Infrastructure & Design

Sunday, October 7 — Tuesday, October 9

This 3-day class is designed for users who want to take their Commvault knowledge to the next level. The Advanced Infrastructure & Design class focuses on a deeper understanding of CommCell® design, storage configuration, and application protection in a virtual infrastructure.

This class is structured as a design and implementation project where Commvault best practices are applied to prepare the participant to optimally plan for CommServe® placement, MediaAgent scaling, deduplication engine design, snapshot implementation, and Virtual Server Agent configuration from the ground up. Emphasis is placed on VM protection, particularly for protecting virtualized applications including Microsoft Exchange, SQL and SharePoint.


Workflow Fundamentals

Sunday, October 7 — Monday, October 8

This two-day day class is designed to provide a basic understanding of the Commvault® Workflow engine. This class introduces concepts including common workflow activities, user interactions, data flow and variables, using QCommands, error checking, and using XML input files. Upon completion of this class the learner will be able to construct basic workflows to control and validate job activities, modify client entity settings, and log events in the event viewer and through email.


V11 New Features Update - Advanced

This 2-day class explores the exciting features of the next generation of Commvault® software. Learn about product changes and configuration options before upgrading your Commvault environment to the latest Service Pack. This class focuses on feature changes including: security, indexing, deduplication, storage policies, and virtualization.

This class is most appropriate for those who already hold the Version 11 Professional and Engineer Certification, looking to refresh skills related to the most recent service packs.  This class includes access to the V11 CVLab environment and labs will be conducted during the class.


Introduction to Commvault® Software

New to Commvault or considering a purchase?  Discover the essential concepts and best practices for user security and management, media and library management, policy configuration and retention, as well as job activity and status monitoring.  Learn how Commvault Software provides an efficient and effective way to manage data movement such as backup, archive, auxiliary copy, and restore, within a CommCell® group.  This one-day class provides a core understanding of the Commvault data and information management system and presents new feature enhancements to the next generation of Commvault® software.


Admin Console

Discover the ease of managing Commvault® software with the Admin Console; a powerful web-based user interface that provides a simplified, service-oriented approach to managing on-premise and cloud infrastructures.  This one-day class takes you through the process of installing Commvault software, creating plans, defining SLAs and retention, and conducting day-to-day tasks in a Commvault environment. Emphasis is placed on core Commvault concepts, strategies for efficient and effective data management.


Commvault® Security and Ransomware

Data security is more critical today than ever before. Security starts with protecting data using encryption but providing secure access control to the data is just as important.

This one-day class discusses encryption options and configurations, firewall security, and Commvault role-based access security.  Along with Security measures, ransomware can infiltrate a company network and spread very quickly. This can make it difficult to limit the damages when systems are not properly monitored. This class will also discuss how Commvault® software provides various tools to combat ransomware.


Virtualization Protection

Monday, October 8 and Tuesday, October 9

This one-day class presents in-depth concepts, design considerations, and various strategies for protecting and configuring both VMware® and Microsoft® virtual environments. The discussions in this class will provide administrators with practical instruction for using Commvault Virtual Server Agent (VSA) and IntelliSnap® Technology to provide a comprehensive protection strategy focusing on applications running on virtual machines both on-site and in the cloud.
