The Commvault® Professional Foundations exam validates the skills required to configure and administer a CommCell® environment using the Commvault Command Center™. It proves a professional level skillset in the following areas:

• CommCell® Administration – user and group security, configuring administrative tasks, conducting data protection and recovery operations, and CommCell® monitoring.
• Storage Administration – deduplication, disk, cloud and tape storage configuration.
• CommCell Core Components – CommServe® server, MediaAgent and placement, client and agent configuration.

Passing the Commvault® Professional Foundations exam in combination with passing the Commvault® Professional Advanced exam results in obtaining the Commvault® Certified Professional certification.

The Commvault® Professional Advanced exam validates the skills required to deploy and configure advanced options in a CommCell® environment using the CommCell® Console. It proves a professional level skillset in

• Deployment of the CommCell® Core Components – CommServe® Server, MediaAgent and agents.
• Storage Advanced Configuration – deduplication, disk, cloud and tape storage.
• Storage Policies – Storage Policies advanced configurations..

Passing the Commvault® Professional Advanced exam in combination with passing the Commvault® Professional Foundations exam results in obtaining the Commvault® Certified Professional certification.

The Commvault® Professional 2020 update exam validates the skills required to configure and administer a CommCell® environment using the Commvault Command Center™ and the CommCell® Console. It proves a professional level skillset in the following areas:

• CommCell® Administration – user and group security, configuring administrative tasks, conducting data protection and recovery operations, and CommCell® monitoring.
• Storage Administration – deduplication, disk, cloud and tape storage configuration.
• CommCell Core Components – CommServe® server, MediaAgent and placement, client and agent configuration.
• How to deploy Commvault® environment components.
• How to configure advanced options relating to:
  • Storage
  • Deduplication
  • Storage policies
  • Advanced media management

• Configuration and management of storage policies, data retention, and protection options for protecting data
• The deployment and configuration of a Virtual Server Agent (VSA) for both physical and virtual hosts
• VSA instances, data sets and subclient configuration
• Describe how IntelliSnap® Technology is used to protect virtual environments
• Establish backup and recovery performance benchmarks

• Configuration and management of storage policies, data retention, and protection options for protecting data
• The deployment and configuration of a Virtual Server Agent (VSA) for both physical and virtual hosts
• VSA instances, data sets and subclient configuration
• Describe how IntelliSnap® Technology is used to protect virtual environments
• Establish backup and recovery performance benchmarks

The Commvault® Certified Expert 2020 certification is the highest level of customer certification available. This exam validates an expert level of knowledge in designing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting a Commvault environment. The exam consists of 75 questions and has a time limit of 180 minutes. Passing score of 80% or higher is required.

An upgrade exam is available for individuals certified as V10 Masters.

An update exam is available for individuals certified as V11 2018 Masters.

Before taking the Expert exam the following requirements must be met:

• Commvault Certified Engineer – Requires successfully passing the Advanced Infrastructure Design exam.

The expert certification assesses the learner’s expert level understanding of Commvault® advanced features including:

• CommCell® components (CommServe® server and MediaAgent processes and log files, CommServe® LiveSync, Power Management for cloud MediaAgents)
• Storage (Cloud Storage Accelerator, Commvault® 3DFS solution, Commvault® ObjectStore, Region-based Storage)
• Deduplication (Deduplication database structure and log files, Deduplication Version 4 Generation 2, Idle-space reclamation, SILO storage,
• Security (Network configuration, automatic and multi-stream tunnelling, Data Interface Pairs)
• Data Protection and Recovery (Virtual Server Agent processes, VM-centric operations, Job priority and dynamic priority)
• Automation (Working with workflows)
• Expert Certification Preparation (tips and trick on how to prepare to maximize chances on passing the Commvault® Certified Expert 2020 exam)

Important Note: You have only one chance to take the exam per registration. You must complete the entire exam once the exam session is started.

Commvault® Certified Expert 2020 Update Exam allows students to update their Commvault® Certified Master 2018 certification to the latest. This exam validates an expert level of knowledge in designing, configuring, administering and troubleshooting a Commvault® environment. The exam consists of 25 questions and has a time limit of 60 minutes. Passing score of 80% or higher is required.

Before taking the Expert exam the following requirements must be met:

• Commvault Certified Engineer – Requires successfully passing the Advanced Infrastructure Design exam.

The master certification assesses the learner’s expert level understanding of Commvault® advanced features including:

• CommCell® components (CommServe® server and MediaAgent processes and log files, CommServe® LiveSync, Power Management for cloud MediaAgents)
